About This Project
TLC came to us with the challenge of promoting two new shows and two returning series – in one print ad. They wanted to feature the talent from all four shows, using only existing photography. The first hurdle was to find a theme to tie together four programs with nothing in common. That's where summer came in. Since the programs premiered during the Memorial Day weekend, we used nostalgic icons of summer like an ice cream truck, boardwalk and painted beach cut-outs to showcase the talent. This approach allowed us to get away with using only their head shots, shooting everything else on the Santa Monica Pier. Jon & Kate Plus 8 kicked the week off with the highest ratings of any show in cable history.
